Game Creation & Coding

Bread and Balance

Code written by GenAI (ChatGPT, Claude)
Code Language: JavaScript (p5.js)

This was a multi-stage group project that five other group members and I developed over the span of four months. The goal of the project was to thoughtfully incorporate themes and experiences related to Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome into the game design, without making the condition the sole focus of the gameplay experience.

As part of the project requirements, we used generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to assist with code generation, allowing the project focus to remain on gameplay concepts, mechanics, functionality, and user experience rather than coding syntax and structure. Using prompt engineering, we were able to prompt AI to provide outputs necessary to make our game come to life.

Examples of Drawings:

Cow Theft

Portrait of Tilly Wearing a Beret

Pickles Eating Seeds

Code written using OpenProcessing
Code Language: JavaScript (p5.js)

This was an individual project that I coded as my final game for the CS106 course at the University of Waterloo. It is an interactive sketchpad with ten different drawing tools, with the options to change the colour and brush size. If the player wants to start over, they can reset their canvas by clicking the garbage bin icon. If they want to download a copy of their drawing, they can do so by clicking the save icon, which downloads a PNG file named “myAmazingMasterpiece”.

Annika’s Ice Cream Parlour

Code written using OpenProcessing
Code Language: JavaScript (p5.js)

This was an individual project developed as the final assignment for the CS105 course at the University of Waterloo. I independently designed and coded a fast-paced ice cream shop simulation game where players must complete as many customer orders as possible within a 60-second time limit, focusing on gameplay logic, user interaction, and time-based mechanics.
